About Davo's Fishing Hunting Sport
Davo’s Fishing Hunting Sport store is situated at 186 Hilton Highway, in the heart of Washdyke, a northern industrial suburb of Timaru and offers customers a one stop shop with plenty of parking.
Davo’s Fishing Hunting Sport is spacious and well lit, stocking a comprehensive range of fishing, hunting, camping and cricket equipment. The store is well set out. It features distinct areas, with fishing tackle covering over 90sq metres. There is a wide range of clothing for both fishing and hunting and Davo’s is now the largest stockest of cricket gear in South Canterbury. At the back is the hunting area which stocks a wide range of firearms and accessories. Davo’s also stocks camping equipment, including tents, lamps and bedding.
Richard Davidson (Davo) is owner/manager and has been an avid fisherman in the area for a number of years. His experience fishing local rivers is second to none in the community. Since he was a child he has juggled his time between fishing hunting and cricket and in 2011 he turned his passions into a business. He and his sister have been operating Davo’s as a locally owned family store ever since. Leighana Cromie, a local from Waimate, has been behind the counter for a couple of years. Customers say she makes the best coffee but Davo reckons customers like her because she can take the Waimo banter.
